  TEMATE (R) of Innerspec Technologies ( USA) is an EMAT ultrasonic technology for non contact testing of metals from very low to very high temperatures.
  The EMAT technology is very practical for production testing due to the absence of couplant as required with conventional ultrasonic testing.
  Pipes, plates but also more complicated products such a roof styles in the automotive industry can be easily tested at a high scanning rate.

  The prinple of EMAT is based on generating elastic waves ( soundwaves) in the material itself by the use of a magnet and coil where with conventional ultrasonic testing the sound wave is generated in an external transducer en coupled to the material with couplant fluid.
